  • Las Vegas, Here I Come, I Just Don't Know Why...

I have always wanted to travel more. We haven't been on a real vacation in over four years. And, I've often said that the last place I'd ever want to go is Las Vegas. So how is it, that on a whim, about three weeks ago, one of my clients asked me to come to his training event in -- of course -- Las Vegas, and I agreed?

On Sunday my daughter are getting on a plane and flying...and I also hate flying. Because this trip makes no financial sense whatsoever, I tried to book economical flights. This means one stop-over on the way there and two on the way home. We get to spend three hours in Detriot at 6am on the way home. (I also could have picked flights with plane changes in NYC, Dallas or Denver.) Then we have a one hour flight back to Toronto. I could probably drive home in the same time.

Did I mention I hate flying. I could really get stressed about it, but it's really stupid to be afraid of flying. After all, drive any 400 series highway in Ontario and you take your life in your hands. I regularly participate in one of the most dangerous sports on the planet. It's just dumb to be afraid of flying.

So, I've loaded up my mp3 player with soothing music, have some herbs and if really necessary have a bottle of Antivan (which I will not use!)  And, right before Christmas--that's really dumb. Oh well, Las Vegas it is...

  • Thinking today about:

    • how few veterans were at the Remembrance Day service this morning.
    • the differences between MSA and PD and DBS treatment. If it were me would I do it? Hell, ya. It's not like there's a lot of options.
    • Normal conversation. Anything not to do with DBS, medications, hours slept, outsmarting PhDs, money, cars and all their parts, my MIL.
    • That amitriptyline is good. But that's all I'll say about that.
    • Las Vegas. December
    • Maybe even Mexico with Cass?
    • Normal conversation...
    *sigh*

I rode out this morning. Rainy weather has knocked down the leaves almost as soon as they turn, so it hasn’t been a very colourful autumn. On this rare sunny morning however, it was lovely on the trails.

Through reforestation. This is called the ‘Hogback Tract’. No poetry in that name.

The creek is a bit high after frequent rains.
